05.13 - Civic Action Project Thesis & Claims

Today in class we began work on outlines for the section of our civic action project paper which will deal with outlining the problem that individuals' projects will work towards solving. To begin this work, we focused on creating powerful thesis statements and claims (see handouts and slides below). To do this, everyone had time to write and then we discussed the statements that people came up with and how to make them more powerful.
